Google Ads video specs and requirements
Video ads on YouTube and across Google's network, including Performance Max campaigns.
What it is
Google Ads runs video ads on YouTube and partner sites. Video ads are usually hosted on YouTube, and campaigns such as Performance Max work best with all three shapes.
What it expects from a video
- Performance Max asks for landscape, square and vertical versions. If you leave one out, Google may generate it automatically, which rarely looks good for a screen recording.

Tips for product demos
- Export all three shapes together, upload them to YouTube (unlisted is fine), then link them in Google Ads.
Official specs
Platforms change their rules from time to time. If a limit matters, check the official page before you upload.
Screen recordings, piece of cake.
Record the demo once. Let Recordcake handle the formats.
