Privacy Policy

The short version

Recordcake does not collect, track or sell any personal data. Your recordings stay on your Mac. There is no account, no cloud and no analytics.

What stays on your device

• Everything you record, import, trim and export is processed and stored locally on your Mac, in the Recordcake folder inside Movies or in a folder you choose.
• Recordcake has no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting of its own and no user accounts.
• The app makes no network requests of its own. The only time it opens a connection is when you click a link to an official spec page, which opens our website in your browser.

Purchases

Recordcake Pro and the 14-day trial are sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple handles the payment; Recordcake never sees your payment details and keeps no purchase records of its own — whether Pro is unlocked is verified on your Mac through StoreKit.

Permissions

• Screen Recording — required by macOS for any app that records the screen or system audio. Used only while you record.
• Microphone — used only if you turn on voice-over recording.
• Camera — used only if you turn on the camera picture-in-picture.
• Accessibility — optional, used only to show the keys you press in the recording. Recordcake does not read or store what you type.

This website

This website has no analytics and sets a single cookie that remembers the language you chose. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to serve the pages, as any web host does.
