Microsoft Store video specs and requirements

The app store built into Windows. Listings can include a trailer alongside screenshots.

What it is

The Microsoft Store is where Windows users install apps and games. In Partner Center you can add trailers to a listing, and they are shown at the top of the product page.

What it expects from a video

  • Microsoft documents trailers as part of store listing images and media, but does not publish an exact bitrate. The preset uses a common 1080p, 30 fps H.264 file that Partner Center accepts.

Tips for product demos

  • Check the Partner Center page linked below before a big launch. This preset follows common practice rather than a published spec.

Official specs

Platforms change their rules from time to time. If a limit matters, check the official page before you upload.
