Website Hero video specs and requirements
A silent, looping video for the top of a landing page.
What it is
Many product sites open with a short looping demo instead of a static screenshot. It needs to be silent, small and quick to load.
What it expects from a video
- No official spec. Browsers only autoplay video that is muted, so these presets have no audio track.
- Keep it short (the presets cap it at 20 seconds) so it does not slow down page loading.

Tips for product demos
- Export both versions and list them as two sources in your video tag, HEVC first. Safari uses the smaller HEVC file and other browsers fall back to H.264.
- Add a poster image so something shows before the video loads.
Official specs

Screen recordings, piece of cake.
